Morning sports fans,

 3blessing3

“I hate being Bi Polar-It’s awesome”. This about sums up the US markets at the moment..one day great, the next day foul! Well ,last night they took their cue from a rampaging Euro Zone as Ze Germans put on over 2%..all this lovely free money now sloshing around Zombieland…I am sure some of it will find its way into the right hands..surely? That’s really what this market is all about..free money chasing assets..houses or shares …of course it can’t last forever can it? Can it? Maybe it can…when one hands over the mantle another economic block picks up the baton and charges ahead(few mixed metaphors there sorry)..now its Zombielands’ time in the sun…

everything is awesopme

Anyway it looks distinctly like we are leading the world these days..at least in one thing..yesterdays’ rally off the bottom was a portent of things to come and this has been a growing trend where our little market is giving us clues about what will happen overnight…once again our banks saved us…my bank index back over 203….now in September 2011 you could have bought all four big banks for $100…my 100 buck chuck..you could also have bought BHP,RIO and FMG for the same amount…they are now 89…so in 3 and a bit years the banks have doubled and the resource stocks have lost over 10%!!!Pretty ruthless….so the question I guess is fast forward to 2018 and what have we…resources still under 100…Banks now 300??? Time will tell but shows the massive underperformance of our mining sector…now you could buy BHP,RIO,FMG and NCM for 100…well 101 anyway…maybe that’s the way to go..the 100 buck new chuck!!

So back up to 5850…and then maybe we will give a little back…but let’s face it this is still a buy the dips market…what are the alternatives after all..90 day bank deposits? Fed Minutes this week as well so that will give us more volatility for sure…

Idea of the Day-Sometimes I go to parties sometimes until four-It’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door!!!

I remain a fully invested bear…it’s hard not to have one eye on the exit whilst trying to enjoy the party as much as possible…still good to look over the shoulder and make sure the exit is clear…everyone wants to party til dawn and have the best time..everyone…but we all have been to those parties and sometimes its good to have a plan B and leave a little early..I am not suggesting that it is time to leave as I think there is still booze and rock and roll music and enough to keep everyone happy for a while BUT this will not last forever. Yesterday I put together a little piece on buying insurance for portfolios through the Puts…we all insure our houses and cars ..even ourselves so why not our portfolios…if you feel the need to put in place some sleep at night protection I am happy to discuss…

I reckon TLS might be worth a look…had a big fall back to 614…still the one…someone I spoke to said that as the smartphone screen size is increasing so is our consumption of data..apparently we watch more videos on a bigger screen..makes sense..more data equals more spend with TLS…and everyone is talking big data these days and these guys would have so much information on us it’s not funny…4.9% fully franked domestically focussed business in a growing sector..and their service is so much better…bought a 10 buck mobile for my Mum whilst she is here and you get a $10 credit!!And easy as to sign up…tick…

Things to make me go mmmmmmm!!!!

Woolies…has anyone seen their latest ad campaigns..I only hope the bloke that does the stupid Austen Powers dance in one was highly paid because he will never work again or live it down..now the one thing you can say about Cokes is it is consistent with its message..Down Down etc….but Wooolies seem to have completely lost the plot with their ad campaign…the annoying Cheap Cheap one and now the Hippy Sixties crap dance one…really..no wondwer they are behind..time for a new agency methinks..

Happy St Patricks day…I watched the Tony Abbutt Paddy day greeting yesterday…is this the worst piece of youtube Abbutt we have seen..it really is horrible…can this bloke get some training FFS…it is cringeworthy..if you haven’t seen it don’t..you cannot unsee it..too horrible…

Talking politics and I know I am a little left for some, but Christopher Pyne on Sky TV…really is this really the best we can do in this country to elect people like this…I don’t care which colour leads us but let’s get some good people..on both sides not this moron!

Market darling SRX has announced what I reckon are underwhelming results and after the run they have had may get badly mauled..we shall see..

Once again oil slipped last night as it seems that the US is running out of paces to store the stuff…seesm no one has thought of the ground!!!Prodcution continues at these low prices as they attempt  to stave off the inevitable looming debt crisis…..at some stage the rigs will stop pumping and fracking and balance will return ..in the meantime this from a the Saudis……

“Saudi Arabia is, and remains, committed to stable oil prices that are fair for producers and consumers, and fair for the global industry and global economy. We want a transparent and balanced oil market. We seek to meet the demands of our customers. We have a long-term view, and we do not make knee-jerk reactions to headlines.”

Chinese markets at Five year high as the main man pledged to do whatever it takes to keep growth at 7%…7% peeps..lets put that in context..the worlds second biggest economy is growing at 7%…its not Cambodia growing at 7% but China..of course he said whatever it takes in Chinese but the result is the same!!!

The DAX continued its recent stellar run, adding 266 points or 2.24% to close at 12,167, the CAC 40 added 50 points to 5061.

Today the RBA minutes from the February meeting will be released at 11.30am ….looking forward to deciphering these pearls of wisdom…

£30……..How much below the all-time record of £281,782 the average asking price for a UK home is at the moment….wouldn’t even buy you a car spot in Sydney!

Where’s wally!!!

wheres wally

Missing for ten days with no explanation…

Listened to Guy Sebastian’s Euro entry…I reckon he has a winner…trouble is then we have to host it and who would pay ?

This seems a good return…200 of America’s most politically active corporations spent a combined $5.8 Billion on federal lobbying and campaign contributions. What they gave pales compared to what those same corporations got: $4.4 Trillion in federal business and support….

No wonder that the Investment banks were keen for BHP to split into ‘Good Hills’ and ‘Bad Hills’…The demerger will require $US738 million of one-off costs, such as stamp duty and fees to investment bankers such as Goldman Sucks.Nice and in five years they can put Humpty back together again and charge them a similar amount…how good is this game?..how long has this been going on??

And finally…..these are good…

In the 1960s there was a US TV game show called ‘Hollywood Squares’.

Basically stars were asked questions by the host, and the contestants had to guess whether their answer was correct or not.

But the real power of the show was the one-liners that the stars answered the question with, before giving their real answer.

Some of the best responses are below.

  1. Do female frogs croak?
  2. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long enough.

  1. If you’re going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be ?
  2. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

  1. Paul, what is a good reason for pounding meat?

(The audience laughed so long and so hard it took up almost 15 minutes of the show!)

  1. True or False, a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.

  2. Rose Marie: No. Wait until morning.

  1. Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?
  2. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.

  1. What are ‘Do It,’ ‘I Can Help,’ and ‘I Can’t Get Enough’?
  2. George Gobel: I don’t know, but it’s coming from the next apartment.

  1. Charley, you’ve just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year?
  2. Charley Weaver: Of course not, I’m too busy growing strawberries.

  1. It is considered in bad taste to discuss two subjects at Nudist camps. One is politics, what is the other?
  2. Paul Lynde: Tape measures.

  1. According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people?
  2. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.

  1. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
  2. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn’t neglected.

  2. George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.

  1. Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or your elephant?
  2. Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?
