“Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.

Gary Lineker

well-played-sir-well-played-indeed

Morning sports fans,

Well Ex England Striker Lineker was nearly right…so 120 minutes this time but the result was the same…

A small bounce on overseas market will give us a slight positive edge today as fears on Portugese banks recede a little…there are certainly underlying issues in Zombieland and this will take many more years to sort out…lots of covering up the cracks to come…still as long as the wallpaper holds and Super Mario keeps saying the right things all will e relatively well..the odd wobble..but thats it the odd one..

Good result from the market on Friday as it rightly anticipated the bounce overseas ..expect today to be less enthusiastic but resources seem to have come alive…with a heady cocktail of takeovers, bottom fishing, better commodity prices and slick promoters giving the punters something to smile about…finally…some of these small caps are having a Lazarus like rebound…take on fiddler Metals of Africa…down and out in East Africa until the current Graphite boom took hold and they mentioned their graphite project in Mozambique..off to the races…languishing at 7 cents now 18!!!And today in a trading halt to raise money….hardly a surprise..last raise was in June so it was about time at 6.5Cents!!!!

Today we will see a quiet start to the week and may try to breach 5500 again before apathy sets in…last day of the school holidays…everyone is still away in Europe it seems!!!

Idea of the Day-Nibble at BRU for the game!!

Here’s one that has fallen from grace spectacularly…Buru…on Friday it hot 90 cents…it did peak at mid 3 bucks …but a combo of new executives, some bad decisions and a lack of progress has hurt…today they issued an update and at least they started the missive with the company is pleased…Ungani is producing 1000bopd which is promising and the old man is back in charge..Eric the Viking…stories on Friday that the collapse finished with a  margin call seemed to make sense…it is now time toe tart looking at this one again for a bounce from here back to the 120’s at least…also rumours of a cash call hurting…this has been a perennial rumour with BRU and suspect its a combo of the margin call and capital raising issue…anyway for this looking for high risk exposure and speculators maybe time to nibble away…ifthey do raise money another chance to top up and would be surprised if they raised while the stock is this low..will try to ramp it up first..expect that is why the update is out!!!

Things to make me go mmmmm!!!

EX Commonwealth Bank of Australia chief executive Ralph Norris has labelled the advisers involved in the bank’s financial planning scandal as “rogue people” and denied any conspiracy to defraud customers…Rogue people!!!

Interesting to see Moaning Mertle sitting next to RasPutin at the World Cup final…suspect they had a bit to talk about…Ukraine,CIA spying ,cost of gas etc

Now I know we are in imminent danger of repealing the carbon tax and then denying that the world needs renewable energy ..just loads of lovely coal..but at least China is doing something..China is mandating that at least 30 percent of new government vehicles be powered by alternative energy by 2016 in the government’s latest salvo to combat pollution and reduce energy dependence.

Finally CYNK the social media stock that soared from nothing to be worth $6bn at one stage has been suspended…really..didn’t see that one coming!! From Bloomberg….”The SEC moved in because of “concerns regarding the accuracy and adequacy of information in the marketplace and potentially manipulative transactions in CYNK’s common stock.” Cynk said in its most recent filing from April that its headquarters are in Suite 400 of the Matalon, an office building in Belize City, Belize. The Matalon does not have a Suite 400, said Tiffany Techeco, secretary of building. She also said there is no main company with the name Cynk Technology; Introbiz, which is the name of Cynk’s website; or Introbuzz, the company’s former name.” I mean how needs Bitcon when you have this baby!!

Biggest surprise of the weekend is that Ian Thorpe is gay..who would have thought! Didn’t see that one coming…

Seems German Investors are unhappy with low interest rates and Bundesbank Chief Jens Weidman has said to Super Mario  that rates should not stay low for longer than necessary as its driving bubbles in housing too!

Everyone loves anecdotal evidence on property markets..I was talking to a  mate at a party on Saturday night who works at the soon to be demolished Entertainment Centre and he was telling me how quickly Lend Lease sold out the off the plan  apartments in Darling Square..all 357 sold out pretty much instantly..one Chinese buyer bought 20!!!The cheapest was $750,000….looks like LLC will be making a small fortune from the redevelopment and Barrangaroo…in HK buyers paid $20,000 just to be able to buy an apartment!!!No wonder the Chinese stock market never goes up…they are all punting property…

In float news…Retail investors will be allocated shares in Healthscope early this week, with the hospital operator’s owners and advisers dividing up the book at the weekend…….Financial services tech company OneVue is preparing to list on the Australian stock exchange later this month too and Medibank Private is after a mix of Retail and Insto brokers to help bring it to the boards…

In the UK the Chinese have bought Pizza Express for £900m.

David Jones meeting today …shareholders expected to say Ja….court decision later this week…

Rupert Murdoch thinks that “Australia shouldn’t build Windmills or any of that rubbish…”

“The government really needs to get its message out to the American people, and it knows that the best way to do that is by using the American news media, said Shanker. The relationship between the government and the media is like a marriage; it is a dysfunctional marriage to be sure, but we stay together for the kids”

Pentagon correspondent for the New York Times, Thom Shanker

And finally……..if you enjoy this email…in fact even if you don’t the Kids at Starlight need our help and I am running the City to Surf in a month to raise funds for them..any donations welcome..would be nice to get to $500…but I now times are tough…tougher I suspect for them..gives generously!!

Even if you only read the jokes this daily email must be worth something to the sick kids!!!

The AMA has weighed in on Joe Hockey’s proposed changes Australia’s health services

The Allergists voted to scratch them, but the

Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had a sort of a gut feeling about it, but the

Neurologists thought he had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt he was labouring under a misconception.

Ophthalmologists considered the ideas short-sighted.

Pathologists yelled, “Over my dead body!” while the

Paediatricians said, “Oh, Grow up!”

The Psychiatrists thought the ideas were madness, while the

Radiologists could see right through them.

The Surgeons were fed up with the cuts and decided to wash their hands of
the whole thing.

The ENT specialists didn’t swallow it, and just wouldn’t hear of it.

The Pharmacists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the

Plastic Surgeons said, “This puts a whole new face on the matter….”

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the

Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.

The Anaesthetists thought the ideas were a gas, but the

Cardiologists didn’t have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the
a***holes in parliament.

Have a great day and please click on the sponsorship page …and thanks to Hans for a weekend avalanche of jokes…some I can use!!!
