Morning sports fans,

Sad news this morning that Robin Williams has died. He was a comic genius and ,as with so many comedians, somewhat troubled. Very sad day.

Anyway last night we saw some more green return to our screens as economic data and easing tensions  helped the US along(and Zombieland)…I was looking after my son yesterday so I missed the huge rally we had…a whole 20 odd points…wow..that was impressive…and yet again we saw a high flyer and the shorters winning out as JB Hi Fi became JB Lofi…rule number 1 do not disappoint !!!Rule Number 2 ..refer Rule No 1!!!

Expect another modest day today as we focus on the results…time for the analysts to earn their big bucks…

Idea of the Day AFJ- Childcare provider…baby GEM

Yesterday G8 education reported (GEM) .Thisone has long been a favourite of mine …stock knocking on the door of $5 again…now I think the big run in this one is over or at elast slowing whilst Baby Gem of Affinity AFJ is where GEM was two years ago..and at $1.14 I reckon this one could go the same way as GEM in has some risks as it’s a new roll up company and the management is not as experienced as GEM but with 104 child care centres at present and it presents its numbers on August 28th..I would expect no surprises to the downside at least…so if you are looking for a slow burner either by acquisition of more centres driving growth or eventually GEM just taking them out I would suggest this is one to look at …

And my best tip of the day..check out the super moon!!

Things to make me go mmmmmm!!!

Paul Zahra from David Jones has resigned…again….probably back for the gig this afternoon…now I am a cynic so strange that he came back for the big pay day and now gone again…course he had no idea that DJs would get knocked off…really…

Obama phones in his update on how well things are going in Iraq…must have been a queue on the Tee that morning…still looks like the incumbent Iraqi PM is resisting stepping aside for a new man…this from our man in Baghdad

Greeks are not happy…I mean when are they these days..30% unemployment and a country stuffed at the behest of ze Germans..but seems that they are pretty peed off with the sanctions that Russia has imposed in its tit for tat sanction war…lots of fresh produce destined for Russia now will flood the eurozone and force prices down…lots of Russians go to Greece every year to buy an island or two..that won’t happen either …16% of the Greek economy is Tourism…will push that back into recession if they are not careful…will affect other southern zombies too…no wonmder they aren’t too keen on sanctions…

That didn’t take long… The Ebola drug given to two Americans and a Spanish priest has been sent to treat infected doctors in two West African countries, and the supply of the medicine is now exhausted, its manufacturer said.

Having spent the day with my son in the health system..I for one would be really happy to pay the $7 co-payment…after a $450 bill for a specialist for a ten minute session $7 would hardly matter!!!!!Still apparently I get some of that back from Medicare…bout 20 bucks!!

Pizza is a licence to print money…only have to look at Dominos numbers to see that… In its first full year of owning a controlling 75 per cent interest in the Domino’s Pizza chain in Japan, they reported a 50.4 per cent lift in underlying net profit to $45.8 million as revenue nearly doubled – thanks to the acquisition of the Japanese franchise – to $588.7 million for 2013-2014.

Net profit for the year was $42.3 million against a profit of $28.7 million in the previous financial year. Not bad huh!!!

And finally…..

A woman takes her 16-year-old daughter to the doctor.

The doctor says “Okay, Mrs. Jones, what’s the problem?”

The mother says, “It’s my daughter, Debbie. She keeps getting these cravings. She’s putting on weight, and is sick most mornings.

“The doctor gives Debbie a good examination, then turns to the mother and says, – “Well, I don’t know how to tell you this, but your daughter is pregnant – about 4 months, would be my guess.”

The mother says, “Pregnant?! She can’t be. She has never ever been with a man! Have you Debbie?”

Debbie says, “No mother! I’ve never even kissed a man, I’m still a virgin!”

The doctor walked over to the window and just stood there staring out of it.

About 5 minutes pass and finally the mother says, “Is there something wrong out there doctor?”

The doctor replies, “No, not really, it’s just that the last time anything like this happened, a star appeared in the east and 3 wise men came over the hill. And there’s no way I’m going to miss it this time!!!!”

Have a great Tuesday…just a quick heads up I am away all next week so no AM or PM report and Chloe is in charge…safe hands…
