Place your bets sports fans,
It’s the new year and what will it bring? Will we get a rerun of the yield driven and bubble market of 13/14 or are we off to the races in a continuing low interest ,low inflation plus mediocre growth..plenty of cash around and loads of Private equity unloads to the punter…risks are being ignored and even the small caps in the US are hitting record highs. Growth in the US and Zombieland is tepid which keeps rates low ,banks printing and punters buying…sadly the exuberance doesn’t seem to be spilling to our market yet and we have crashed 70 odd points in the last two days..rally today though and may be more than we thought..banks have been the underperformers as the CBA fallout dims enthusiasm…miners have been rallying well and expect more to come…Aussie dollar tipping at 95 cents now…
Expect a very strong day..reckon we could see a half century and lots of clapping from the club house..sold down too much in the last two days…go on prove me wrong eh?
Idea of the Day-Buy MQG
Gonna push my old alma mater today..MQG- doing really well in the mortgage market here but more importantly are geared in so many ways to the equity market…broking wins on more volume, corporate wins on more deals, funds win on more FUM (girls just wanna have FUM) and Governments are so broke and doing the austerity thing that they are flogging off the family silver and if there is one bunch of smart people that know how to melt down and reengineer this silver, it’s the Silver Donut boys…if you are looking for a “geared” investment this is the one..expect to see $65 by September…simples…sorry Jim Chanos you git this one so wrong!!!!!
Things to make me go mmmmm!

An ANZ report has said that successive governments have failed to “effectively tax” the mining boom.. hardly a surprise given the miners wrote the tax themselves..not sure why Truthless Tony wants to abolish a tax that brings in no revenue anyway!!
Not sure if the two women suing Goldman Suchs have seen “The Wolf of Wall Street” but they have said the place was a “boy’s club” atmosphere that included bouts of binge drinking and trips to strip clubs.Der!

And finally…
A Russian and an Irish wrestler were set to square off for the Olympic gold medal.
Before the final match, the Irish wrestler’s trainer came to him and said ‘Now, don’t forget all the research we’ve done on this Russian. He’s never lost a match because of this ‘pretzel’ hold he has. Whatever you do, do not let him get you in that hold! If he does, you’re finished.’
The Irishman nodded in acknowledgment.
As the match started, the Irishman and the Russian circled each other several times, looking for an opening. All of a sudden, the Russian lunged forward, grabbing the Irishman and wrapping him up in the dreaded pretzel hold. A sigh of disappointment arose from the crowd and the trainer buried his face in his hands, for he knew all was lost… He couldn’t watch the inevitable happen.
Suddenly, there was a long, high pitched scream – then a cheer from the crowd and the trainer raised his eyes just in time to watch the Russian go flying up in the air. His back hit the mat with a thud and the Irishman collapsed on top of him, making the pin and winning the match.
The trainer was astounded. When he finally got his wrestler alone, he asked ‘How did you ever get out of that hold? No one has ever done it before!’
The wrestler answered ‘Well, I was ready to give up when he got me in that hold but at the last moment, I opened my eyes and saw this pair of testicles right in front of my face. I had nothing to lose so with my last ounce of strength, I stretched out my neck and bit those babies just as hard as I could.’
The trainer exclaimed ‘That’s what finished him off?’
‘Not really. You’d be amazed how strong you get when you bite your own nuts.”
Have a great Wednesday
