Good morning and welcome back sports fans,

After a nice break, we are back to the reality of the markets..Jobs numbers from the US came out on Good Friday and there was nothing good about them at all..disappointed!…the  market needed to see a number with a 2 in front of it but alas alack, there were only 120,000 jobs created..not enough despite the headline number going down..The Dow dropped 130 points and stayed there pretty much when it reopened on Monday (they didn’t get the day off).Expect our market to play catch up and fall about 30 points early with metals maybe a touch firmer than others..Aussie dollar heading for parity will help as well…

This has gotta be the quote of the day!!

“Greece, bailed out by the EU and the IMF and mired in recession for a fifth year, should return to growth from 2014, European Central Bank board member Joerg Asmussen says.

“I expect, following the implementation of the (government’s) programme to stabilise the public finances, positive growth in Greece from 2014,” Asmussen told the Rheinische Post in an interview to appear Tuesday.”

Things that caught my eye

1.Austar merger to go through..finally.

2.VIX (fear index) posts longest winning streak since 2003

3.Facebook pays $1bn for Instagram! Really..

4.Fracking and the gas industry in the US is cutting their carbon emissions and helping the planet..may not be so good for the water table etc.  This has put the country on course to cut domestic greenhouse-gas emissions 12 percent by 2020,

5.Gold had a good lift as Spain and US economics, PLUS the return of Indian Jewelers to the market, helped.

6.Man Utd look to have sewn up the Championship!

7.Clouds over the carbon Tax emerge with Legal expert saying its unconstitutional.

8.Butzi Porsche gone to the great design school in the Sky..thanks for the legacy.. 911 was always my favourite number!

No great words of wisdom except that the market has had such a good first quarter its gonna be tough from here..especially if the US falls back as looks likely!

Back on Sky TV this afternoon at 4.30…
