If a picture paints a thousand words..then this should be encouraging for the bulls…next stop 4400 then if it breaks that onwards and upwards. Good night on metals will help resource stocks move higher today.

SPI up 28 points today so good start to a quiet and shortened week..Easter week will be quieter than normal and normal is still pretty quiet

First off Chelsea won!

1.Dow Industrials rose 994.48 points, or 8.1%, and the S&P 500 rose 150.87 points, or 12%, during the first three months of 2012, amid signs of a strengthening U.S. economic recovery.

2.European stocks rallied after euro-zone finance ministers agreed to increase the size of the region’s firewall, with the Stoxx 600 index posting a gain of 7.7% in the first quarter.

3.Austar shareholders have voted strongly in favour of Foxtel’s $1.52 -a-share offer. Austar’s board told shareholders at the company’s annual general meeting that it expected a decision on whether Australia’s competition watchdog would approve the merger by April 13. If the merger was given its long-awaited clearance, shareholders will be paid for the cash offer by April 26, the board confirmed. AUN strengthened 3 cents (2.11%) to $1.45

4.Reserve bank meeting tomorrow..I still want a cut!!!

5.Avalon Over 35/2s beat Mosman 2-1 in the first game of the season…Go the reds!

6.On Sunday, it was reported that Chinese manufacturing activity rose for a fourth straight month in March, helped by a recovery in the auto, tobacco and electronics sectors. This is good news and goes against the HSBC reports of a contraction.

7.Another fantastic poll result for Julia..not! Of course they keep saying that Queensland was a state election and has nothing to do with Federal politics…really..come on guys you are going to be wiped out and you all know it!

Why retail is stuffed…bought my wife a kindle on Friday…all I wanted to do was spend money and do you think anyone was there to help or to offer advice or alternatives..one guy in Myer’s thought I wanted a Candle and asked if I wanted the smelly ones or plain..I mean really I was standing in the computer department..do I look like I wanted a candle!

 

Anyway Dick Smith did the job but it was hard work and not a great experience…give me online everytime!
